Hello and welcome! You probably know by now, but you've reached the online portfolio of me, Tomas Breffitt. I create to express myself, because it excites me and interests me, I create because I like to learn, and this is where I like to put those creations.

The internet is one of my biggest passions, I've been working on websites since I was 11. I have over 8 years of HTML/XHTML experience, 5 years of CSS experience. Accompanied by plenty of JavaScript, PHP, XML, and DHTML work, I can create well rounded web sites and applications.
As somewhat of a web junky, I always keep up with the latest in internet technology. I am constantly keeping up with the latest trends, and love learning how they work.
I love to design, I love computer graphics, and have quite the experience. I started with photo-manipulation, which progressed quickly into creating graphics from scratch. I have years of experience in raster based, vector based, print, desktop publishing, and motion graphics.
I am fully versed with the design software that make up the Adobe Creative Suite, including 7 years with Photoshop, 5 years in Illustrator, and 2 with InDesign.
The third pillar in my triple threat is video. I started on a VCR stopping, starting and recording, it was very tedious work. Once I realized the possibilities of computer editing, it opened up my video world. Since video takes so much time, I don't get as much time to spend on it as I would like.
I started using Final Cut in high school, taking television broadcasting courses, and now I have years of experience with the tool, and would never go back. I've been provided with a few opportunities in university to work with video, and I try to make the best of it.
Who am I? I'm your average 20 year old guy, love to have fun, love to learn, love to create. I'm probably what you expect, but a little bit nerdy. I believe the internet is the future of everything we do. I'm really into internet television (such as revision3, TWiT.tv), and cool web apps (twitter, digg). I'm into punk and ska music, as well as rock. Somehow I've figured out how to balance all this with school, and still get time to go outside to hang with friends and just enjoy nature.
I'm currently a 3rd student of a Carleton University and Algonquin College's joint program, Interactive Multimedia and Design. There I get a chance to study so many things I love and find new things to love. It is exactly what I want in a post-secondary program where I get to learn about the web, graphics, game development and programming, video, photography, and so much more!
